Log into your Instagram account

Instagram doesn't provide a way to delete your account via the app. Instead, you must use your mobile browser or your PC.

How to deactivate your Instagram account temporarily

Instagram offers you the option to temporarily deactivate your account. This will temporarily hide your profile and you will not be able to use it until you log back in. To temporarily disable your Instagram, select the “Edit profile” button you'll find on your own profile page next to your username. Here you will see different fields to edit your basic information including email address, bio information, etc.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a large button which says “Submit”. Beside that button, you'll see a fainter option that says “Temporarily disable account”.

Choose your reasons for deactivating your profile on the list provided by Instagram. After this, it will ask you to re-submit your password. Once you have done so, you will have successfully disabled your Instagram account.
