How to Delete my Instagram Account Permanently
There are many reasons you may want to get rid of your Instagram profile permanently. Perhaps you are sick of the limitations in your social media bubble. Maybe you are worried about productivity as you get thumb cramp from the perpetual scrolling which takes you away from more significant tasks. It could be a fear that you will become as vain as the uninhibited narcissists which clog up your feed or you scare yourself by how important getting (or not getting) those heart shaped likes has become. Whatever the reason, oneHOWTO is here to show you how to delete my Instagram account permanently so you can get back to engaging with the meatspace.
Open Instagram on your PC
The first step to get rid of your Instagram account permanently is the following: Go to the official page by clicking here and enter in your username and password. Strangely, although the company wants you to use the app as much as possible (you are unable to upload pictures from a PC without the use of an emulator), you are unable to delete your account permanently or otherwise in the app. This is likely because, while they want you to use the app as easily as possible, they want to make it difficult to stop using it.
Disable Instagram account temporarily
As Instagram wants to give you as many reasons as possible to keep using their service, they give you the option to temporarily suspend your profile. This will temporarily hide your profile and you will not be able to use it until you log back in again. To delete your Instagram account temporarily, select the "Edit profile" button you'll find on your own profile page next to your username. Here you will see different fields to edit your basic information including email address, bio information, etc.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a large button which says "Submit", beside which you'll see a fainter option saying "Temporarily disable account".
Select a reason
Choose your reasons for suspending your profile on the list and it will ask you to re-submit your password. Do so and you will have temporarily deleted your Instagram account.
